You’re in love – your car looks great and is your pride and joy, until, one annoying knock or bump occurs. The minor damage plays in your mind – the imperfections make it not feel like the same car anymore and even though others wouldn’t notice anything wrong with it, you know that it will need to be repaired before you feel this love once more.

There are so many different types of minor car damage that will require us to go to a body repair garage, including the four discussed below.

Wing mirrors

Sticking out of the car and often very flimsy; wing mirrors suffer the brunt of minor accidents more than anything else. Whether you have got too close to another car or an object in a car park, or the damage was caused by someone else, broken wing mirrors make the car look cheap and nasty.

Not to mention the fact that these are highly important tools for being able to see all around the car – especially when using multiple lanes on the motorway – it’s important that you do not go for extended periods with wing mirrors that aren’t fully functional.

Bumper scuffs

Scuffs to your car’s bumper can happen more easily than you may think. Of course, bumpers are designed to protect the rest of the vehicles against minor bumps and knocks, however, due to their proximity to the road, they can suffer the brunt of damage meaning their paintwork can need a touch-up once in awhile.

Getting bumper scratch repair is usually affordable and is well worth doing to help retain the value of your car – no potential buyers or trade-in garages want to see such defects when considering whether to take your vehicle.

Alloy wheel scratches

Alloys wheels look very cool and help to give a vehicle a sleeker edge. However, they are more expensive than wheels with the more traditional hub-cap fittings, and damage to them is pricier to fix. As many cars now have these fitted as standard, you may find you need to get them repaired to help bring them back to their former glory.

A shiny set of alloys which are free of scratches can really turn heads, and if selling your vehicle can even be the make or break factor. Structural and scratch damage are the most common defects – with parking up close to curbs often being the cause of the problems.

Chipped windscreens

Windscreen chips can happen easily, especially when loose parts of the road surface are flicked up into your path. Due to the speeds cars travel, it doesn’t take a large piece of stone or tarmac to hit the glass for it to cause a chip or crack.

Chips should be repaired as soon as possible with a special resin to prevent a more serious crack occurring. This can usually be arranged through the driver’s car insurance provider.
